Ha Long Bay

Ha Long Bay is one of seven beautiful natural wonders in the world. The name “Ha Long Bay” means “the bay of decensding dragon” and it related to many legends in Vietnam. The Bay covers an area of more than 1,500 square kilometers with 1,600 limestone islands and islets.

Ha Long Bay was recognized as a world natural heritage for the first time by Unesco in 1994. The second time Ha Long Bay was recognized for its geographical and geomorphologic values in 2000. Therefore, Ha Long Bay is the first choice for many tourists when coming Vietnam.

Located in Quang Ninh province, Ha Long Bay is 170 km far from Hanoi capital and it takes 3.5 hours by cars. While exploring the bay, tourists will feel excited about legendary world of limestone islands. With many beautiful caves, Ha Long Bay would be very attractive with many tourists coming here.

Thien Cung Cave – a paradise in the ground

Thien Cung Cave have a beautiful name of Heaven Cave. Thanks to the hands of nature, Thien Cung Cave is one of the most impressive natural attractions in Ha Long bay. In addition, Thien Cung Cave is one of the largest and most beautiful caves here.

In 1993, fishermen came here to avoid a big storm and accidentally explored this cave. Because stalactites inside had shapes of dragon, phoenix, and four pillars which made them think about an imperial palace. The cave has been named as Thien Cung Cave or Heaven Cave since then.

Indeed, visiting Thien Cung Cave, tourists may have the feeling of entering into a heavenly palace with the magic and magnificent system of stalactites.

Dau Go Cave – the largest cave in Ha Long Bay

Similar with Thien Cung Cave, Dau Go Cave has the ancient beauty with many stalagmites having special and strange shapes. Dau Go Cave has an area of 5,000 square meters. The cave door is 17 meters wide and 12 meters high. The Cave is 27 meters higher compared to  the sea level.

Dau Go Cave consists of three main parts. The first one has a system of stalactites with many familiar images such as lions, pythons, turtles, fighting cocks. The second part has a spectacular picture of rocky islands. In the third part, many giant stone pillars were created by the nature.

At the end of the cave, there is a freshwater lake. Looking up to the dome of the cave, there are strange shapes depending on the imagination of each person. Some say that these are the images of elephants, other tell these shapes are images of deers and lions.

Sung Sot Cave – a very amazing cave

Sung Sot Cave was discovered by the French in 1901. When they entered into the Cave, they were very amazing of the beauty here. Therefore, they named this cave as “amazing” cave, which means “sung sot” cave in Vietnamese.

Sung Sot Cave is one of the largest and most beautiful caves in Halong Bay. The area of the Cave is more than 10,000 square meters. The road on Sung Sot Cave is under a canopy of green leaves. Walking here, tourists have feelings of climbing on mountains and experience the excitement as if they are stepping to the sky.

Ti Top Island – a “Russian astronaut” Island

In 1962, a famous astronaut from Russia named “German Titop” had a visit to Halong Bay and this island. To memorize that occasion, President Ho Chi Minh named this island as Ti Top Island.

Ti Top Island does not only possess breath taking romantic landscapes, but also has a heavenly beautiful beach. Although the beach here is not big, it is famous for fresh air, clean water and white sand that creates tourists a great feeling of relaxing.

To better serve tourists visiting here, there have been numerous resorts, hotels, restaurants, bars, and kayak facilities recently. Therefore, Ti Top Island is usually full of tourists, especially in each summer.

Cat Ba Island

Cat Ba Island is the largest island in 1,969 islands in Ha Long Bay.Cat Ba Island is home to plenty of hotels, restaurants, and bars. In addition, Cat Ba Island offers great beaches for sunbathing and swimming during the summer months.

Cat Ba Island still keeps its wild characteristics with a large Cat Ba National Park with diverse ecosystems. Lakes and waterfalls dot the spectacular limestone hills, Cat Ba Island is the great destination for tourists who like peaceful and quiet places.
